Kasturi turmeric also known as wild turmeric, kasturi manjal, jungle haldi is a different variety of turmeric belonging to the ginger-turmeric family. Its botanical name is curcuma aromatica. It’s different from the edible turmeric variety and is used exclusively for cosmetic and ayurvedic purposes as a skin care herb.

It can be used in a variety of recipes mixed with chickpea flour or raw milk or sandalwood powder or yogurt or buttermilk or sugarcane juice or coconut oil – depending on the purpose for which it is being used.
