Poongar rice also called as ‘Poongar arisi’ is one of traditional rice variety of Tamilnadu using natural farming methods (no use of any harmful chemical fertilizers and pesticides) Its Also known as Women's Rice as it cures most of Womens harmonal issues. This rice is rich in anthocyanin( an antioxidant). Poongar rice also contain mineral like Iron, Zinc, Magnesium and Molebidinum. It contains anthocyanin(antioxidant)which helps to kick out the bad sweat out of the body. It contains vitamin B1 which is specially helpful in case of mouth and stomach ulcer and stomach related problem. 

Poongar rice can be used for making soft idlis, dosas(especially Neer Dosa) and porridge.
